Privacy Policy for DialedDaily

This Privacy Policy describes how DialedDaily ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the DialedDaily mobile application (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.

INFORMATION WE COLLECT

When you create an account or use the App, we collect:

  • Anonymous session identifier: when you first tap "Get Started" on the welcome screen, we create a temporary anonymous account so you can complete onboarding (selecting your goal, weekly target, gym, and reminder time) before deciding whether to create a full account. This anonymous account holds the onboarding data you enter, and is converted in place to a real account when you finish signing up with email or Apple.
  • Account information: your email address, password (stored as a one-way cryptographic hash; we never see your password), and your chosen display name.
  • Profile information: an avatar selection (chosen from a built-in preset gallery), your weekly check-in goal, your primary fitness goal, the gym location you set during onboarding, and your usual workout time of day.
  • Location at check-in: when you tap "Check In," we use your device's GPS to verify you are at your saved gym. Your coordinates and the computed distance to your gym are stored with the check-in record so we can audit for abuse and so you can review your check-in history.
  • Optional background location (auto check-in): if you explicitly opt in to the "Auto check-in" feature in Settings and grant iOS "Always" location permission, we register a single circular geofence around your home gym (or your vacation gym, if vacation mode is on). iOS — not us — monitors that boundary in the background and wakes the App when you cross it. We never receive your live coordinates outside of a check-in event. You can disable this anytime in iOS Settings or in-app, and the geofence is removed.
  • Gym search queries: when you use the "Search by name" option to find your gym, the text you type (e.g. "Planet Fitness Hollywood") is sent to Apple's Maps Server API via our backend to retrieve matching places. Apple processes the query under their own privacy terms; we do not store search queries on our servers.
  • Activity data: the dates and times of your check-ins, your weekly streaks, and the badges you have earned.
  • Group data: the groups you join or create, your group invite codes, and your relationships to other members of your group.
  • Push notification token: if you enable notifications, we store an Apple Push Notification token so we can deliver check-in reminders, friend nudges, weekly recaps, and group standings.
  • Authentication identifiers: if you sign in with Apple, Apple provides us a unique identifier and (on first sign-in only) your name and email. We do not receive your Apple ID password.
  • Subscription status: if you start a free trial or paid subscription, our subscription provider (RevenueCat) shares the status of your subscription (active, in trial, expired, billing issue) with us so we can unlock paid features. We never see your Apple ID, credit card, or other payment details — Apple processes all billing.

HOW WE USE THE INFORMATION

We use the information described above only to:

  • Create and maintain your account.
  • Verify gym check-ins.
  • Display your activity, streaks, and progress to you and to members of your group.
  • Send notifications you have enabled (check-in reminders, friend nudges, weekly recaps).
  • Diagnose technical issues and prevent abuse.

We do not use your data to serve advertisements. We do not profile you for marketing.

WHO WE SHARE INFORMATION WITH

We share your data only with:

  • Supabase Inc., our backend hosting provider, who processes your data on our behalf under their privacy and security commitments.
  • Apple Inc., for push notification delivery (when you have enabled notifications), for App Store payment processing (when you subscribe), and for the Maps Server API (when you use search to find your gym).
  • RevenueCat Inc., our subscription management provider, who processes subscription status events on our behalf. RevenueCat receives Apple receipt data from Apple and shares only the resulting status (active, in trial, expired) with us. We never see your payment card or Apple ID.
  • Other members of your DialedDaily group: your display name, avatar, weekly check-in count, weekly goal, and streak are visible to your group members. No other personal information is shared.

We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone. We do not share your data with advertisers, brokers, or analytics providers.

DATA RETENTION AND DELETION

You can delete your account and all associated data from inside the App at any time, by going to your Profile and selecting "Delete account." Account deletion is permanent and removes your account, profile, check-ins, group memberships, and push token from our systems within thirty (30) days.

If you instead leave a group, your data is removed from that group's history but your individual account remains active.

SECURITY

All data is transmitted to and from our servers over HTTPS. Passwords are stored hashed using industry-standard algorithms; we never have access to your plain-text password. We rely on our backend provider's access controls and on Apple's platform security to protect your data on device.

No system is perfectly secure. If we ever discover a breach affecting your data, we will notify you in accordance with applicable law.

SUBSCRIPTIONS

DialedDaily offers an optional paid subscription with a free trial period. All subscription payments are processed by Apple through your App Store account; we never see your payment information. Your subscription auto-renews until you cancel it. You can cancel at any time from iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions, and the cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.

Deleting your DialedDaily account does NOT automatically cancel any active Apple subscription. To stop future charges, cancel the subscription in iOS Settings before deleting your account. The App displays a reminder of this when you initiate account deletion while subscribed.

CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

DialedDaily is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us and we will promptly delete the account.

YOUR RIGHTS

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal data we hold about you. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email below. We will respond within thirty (30) days.

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) gives you specific rights regarding your personal information; we do not sell personal information.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies. Our legal basis for processing your information is your consent (which you give by creating an account) and our legitimate interest in operating the App.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you in the App and update the "Effective" date above. Continued use of the App after a change means you accept the updated policy.
